Hair loss affects people of all ages. I often see young people who are in high school, or college and they have already noticed their hair starting to thin. Hair loss is hard on a person at any age but can you image how devastating it would be for a child?
A few months ago, I met a 12-year-old girl with Alopecia. For maintain her privacy, we’ll call her Julie. With a big, beautiful smile, Julie walked into my office wearing a wig. Her Mom had called wanting to know about wig alternatives for her.
We sat down and discussed getting Julie into a hair system that was bonded. I explained that wearing a hair system would allow her to do a lot more without worrying about her hair. Her Mom said swim was starting at school and it would be wonderful for her to be able to participate without worrying about her hair.
They decided to join us and a few months later, just before swim started, Julie came in for her first delivery. Her hair system looked beautiful when she left and for the first time in a while, she was able to participate in swim without worrying about her hair!
A hair system can be a wonderful alternative to a traditional wig. Many wigs are designed to be taken on and off and they don’t allow you to do things like go swimming, ride a motorcycle or even go out on windy days like we recently had in Western New York. With a hair system you can live life without worrying about your hair.
